The Naperville Police Department Social Services Unit addresses needs within the community, particularly those related to domestic violence, mental illness, child/elder abuse, sexual abuse, substance abuse and youth and family issues.
Ali Smith is a licensed social worker and provides crisis intervention, short-term counseling and referrals, mental health assessments, court advocacy for orders of protection, assistance with death notifications and grief counseling, and follow-up on police reports that require further assistance.
Ali specializes in senior citizens and loves providing assistance to aging residents and their families/caregivers. She was formerly an investigative caseworker for the Illinois Department on Aging’s Adult Protective Services program.
