- Use a food thermometer to be sure your food is cooked thoroughly
- Store leftovers promptly and reheat thoroughly
- Keep your refrigerator and freezer set at the proper temperature
- Thaw your foods safely in the refrigerator
- Throw away any food not stored at the proper temperature for more than 2 hours
- If in doubt, throw it out!
